MidSouth has two 6 cavity molds for the 38-40 (.401). Which one do you think would suit me best for Cowboy Action :Fire: shooting? Also, I plan to tumble lube. Here are the 2 that I have to choose from:

401-175 TC
TL401-175 SWC

IMO the tc will shoot good but there is no crimp groove. If you use them in a tube mag they will be pushed into the case and cause problems. The swc should have a crimp groove, if it does not find one that does.

id check out that lee swc if i were you. Ive got a 150 lyman swc mold that is the most accurate .401 mold ive used and that lee looks alot like it.

IMO, for CAS, neither. Round nose, flat point (RNFP) bullets feed reliably in lever actions and look the most authentic in western gunbelts. If that doesn't concern you, go with the SWC with the crimp groove and hope your lever action doesn't mind.

I'd also go with the SWC version. I believe the TC is intended for 10mm autos.
