Finally got into the single shot game. Shes a T/C contender. The barrel is a super 14 in .223 with a williams FP receiver sight. I found this while browsing a forum else where, the guy selling it was from central kentuckey. I got it payed for, shipped and deleivered for under $250. The guy said that when he took it to his FFL to ship it he got an offer of $455 from the FFL, but he kept his word and honored our deal. All ready blasted 2 crows and a pine squirrel with it, on the way home from my dealer (35 miles one way). Haven't put it on paper yet...man does that sucker bark though!!:Fire:

Good gun, you're going to love it. Now you'll want a .30-30 barrel, .44 Magnum, on and on.....

The best deals are the ones like you found but go to Ed's TC (http://www.edstc.com/) to see all the calibers you can lust for....

I will second what Scrounger says. Go to Ed's website. I picked up a deal like yours a couple of weeks ago locally (did not do as well on the price) but it came with a T/C electro-dot scope. It is also in 223. I had a 7TCU barrel / scope in the safe already.

I called Ed this morning and ordered a 14" .17 Mach II and a 14" 17 Remington. The stuff from him is about the same cost of the stuff you see on the auction sites. Ask questions while you are on the phone with him. I found out I could have him take off the factory sights ($15 credit per set), install Leupold scope base and rings ($35 per set) and install plug screws in the front sight holes for $20 ($35-$15) per barrel. Now all I need is a couple scopes. He also indicated that his website is not up to date and the paper flyer in the box will reflect his current inventory. Shipping is Pri mail from him so I should have mine in a couple of days. I will let you know how it turns out.

I have a spare
- 10" 30-30 barrel and forend, no sights
- Leupold dual dovetail scope base and rings for contender handgun
If you are interested we could work something out.

I am also looking for another Contender or G2 frame. Wilderness Supply in Ishpeming has a used 22lr contender handgun with the Pachmayer grip/forend for around $300 that is tempting me...

That Contender for $300 is a good buy. You can sell the .22 barrel for $100-$150.

I succumbed to temptation and had them put it in the back room today. On lay away until I can line up my "may I please buy a handgun" paperwork from the State of Michigan.

I went out and shot my 14" 30/30 today.150 gr rem sp with a close to max load of AA2520 = some fine fireballs:mrgreen:.it was printing a 3/4 in group off the sandbags.

just a thought on scopes.I have a 4x weaver on mine and wish I would have bought a 2x.the 4X in the brush is hard to get a quick sight picture.your eyes might be better than mine.
