Mine was a little "shaky" at best. Due to a winter storm that laid down about an inch of ice on the trees our power went out about 7pm last Wednesday. I went to town Friday (Evans GA near Augusta) and a guy skidded through an intersection and I T-boned him in my prized 1972 FJ-40 Toyota Land Cruiser. Fortunately no one was seriously hurt but I bent the frame on my ride. Then Friday night at 10:23:38 pm, sitting in the cold and dark we were startled with a 4.1 earthquake that sounded and felt like a roaring tank coming through the living room. The epicenter was 12 miles away, across the river in Edgefield Co. Saturday was pretty normal and the power actually came back on around 8pm. Catching up on my rest yesterday afternoon and about 3 pm got a smaller shake and rumble from an aftershock. Happy to report things seem back to normal so far this week but it's only Monday. Ice and earthquakes in Ga the same week.....signs and wonders!

Not too bad except I spent most of the week dealing with my sister and her car wreck!!

Damn. And I thought my week was bad. I just had the muffler fall of my truck and had a little meat in the fridge go bad.

I have a dumb question, exactly how does a guy go about deciding which hen is his best one??? I just had to ask. lol
I reckon I pretty much had a boring week, just the way I like them.

I think we have enough material here for an epic country song!

There ain't nothing in here about trains, or Momma, or prison, or gettin' drunk, just to paraphrase a noted singer. We do have something about trucks. GW

I thought mine was going well, I got 4# of 9mm cast. But wait - got kids 2 dogs, 1 pees inside every nite, the other won't obey and is teaching my dog bad habits, the wife got mad (at me) cause fios doesn't work on her favorite channels, she forgot her email password. I spent most of the day on the phone with fios and wrote down her new password. For her anniversary this year she gets a button board - you know - lots of buttons to push that do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. And the IRS finally released new forms for taxes so I got all the SW on 3 computers updated & scanned. Oh, yea, the wife gets up at 4, doesn't turn off the alarm, I put the dogs out, cleaned the pee and tried to get more sleep to 3 barking dogs. Today the dogs stay outside and I'm going to relieve tension by shooting shotgun, 9mm & maybe go get another rifle. Another day, another flogging.

Dang guys. I guess I dont have a thing to complain about.

On a more entertaining and positive note, my 7yo daughter decided to try her bike without training wheels and took off on it the first time without issue. Our 7yo neighbor did the same thing too and the 2 girls had a grand time this past saturday. Weather was nice for a change and I took my daughter out in the back yard for a small fire and roasted marshmallows together. She managed to fling an ember off her "mallow stick" and landed on my arm. Small price to pay for the memories.

Enjoy, osteodoc. Next time you look she'll be 35, married and living 75-80 miles away. I know this. Fortunately, she still calls every other night just to yack. I've had better weeks, but MUCH wore ones too. I can still walk and do activities. Life is good

It was a good week here. I didn't get shot at or assaulted. I dealt with 2 middle-school girl fights, 1 kid with pot on the school bus, one theft from the girls locker room. I taught 2 DARE classes and taught 16 hrs of defensive tactics to about 20 cops in the next county to the west. We won our curling match tonight and I am sore as all get out! 53 is too old to act like a teenager but I'm thankful that I can complain about about the pain. We are experiencing another blizzard. My wife and my dog still love me so I am truly a blessed man!

Saw the doc wednesday to follow up on some injuries from the accident in Nov. Down to half my normal strength in the right hand and wrist, still fighting headaches and light sensitivity. Car insurance was supposed to have sent me a check for medical mileage but didn't so running low on funds. ANd I can't get in to see the wrist specialist until April 3...

I get to start next week great to, CT myelogram on my neck... probably add to my headache with a spinal headache when they draw a little fluid out.

Histed, I try to enjoy every second that I can. She's an outspoken, opinionated little girl and am dreading the teen years. She reminds me of her mama so much. LOL!

To all those that are going through troublesome times, I wish you the best of luck and keep y'all in my prayers. Never give up.

Last couple of weeks - long story. We are expanding the patio and building a brick smoker/grill. One of three oak trees was too close so it needed to come down. Another is small and within four feet of a huge, 70+ year old white oak, so it needed to come down as well cause it wouldn't survive. Hired a tree guy to do this, small back yard. He wrote a contract and drew a diagram of the two trees to come down, one close to the patio and the small one. Two fridays ago we came home from work to find the one close to the patio and the big one down. This tree shaded the house so our cost of AC will go up $200-$300 a year and the AC will wear out faster.

The tree guy accepted responsibility and will help pay for the patio. Tomorrow friends and my son are coming over to cut up the smaller one and the limbs up for fire wood, I am renting a splitter, and in March a sawyer will come over and cut the big one up into 6/4 boards. I figure that's the best we can do with the disaster.

Oh, and I just came home from oral surgery.

Typical week...

Worked Mon-Fri with only the average BS and drama...well, maybe a little above average BS.

My wife still loves me...my children still love me...my grandchildren still love me.
The black Lab doesn't even acknowledge that I am here most of the time, so I guess the best I can get out of him is that he tolerates me in his "dog-box/kennel".

Gun show in town this weekend, so my son and I will spend Saturday there.

Well I had a wonderful week. Got to be with my grandchildren twice including eating supper with them, my son and daughter in law last night (papa made homemade vegetable beef soup...nana made cornbread and brownies)...attended a Bible Study on Monday at a retirement home (121st Monday of our study)...VA eye exam on Wednesday...lunch with my best friend and his father at IHOP...I decided in April 2008 that everyday I woke up was gonna be a good day...some are better than others but everyday is a gift from God...
