Hate to stop but I have things I need to do for work tomorrow. I bought this mold for use with my Krags, it turned out to be a stellar performer in my 1903 Springfield, turned around and got great performance in the Krag.

If I'm not mistaken the 311284 was originally made specifically for the Krag ?

Ben's correct about the original "target" for #311284. Years ago I had a single cav. Ideal/Lyman -284 which was the best casting mold I owned at that time. Unfortunately the bore riding nose section was too small for the tastes of my .30-06's bore. Needless to say, accuracy was OK, but never m.o.a. or less.
