Has anyone bought the new speers reloading book #14? I just got it and it seems to lack different types of piwder but has some very helpful info about the construction of casings. Just wondering.

#14 was published in 2007, is this a new printing, something changed?

Yeah, I bought mine last year. Didn't see much in it that wasn't in #13. Some of the older cartridges are no long listed. I've been buying older manuals to see what I can find. Is this a new printing? If it is, it should have a publishing date on the cover page. mikey

Not really. The second printing has all the major powder companies. The Hodgdon group seems to have the most listings.

My daughter bought me it in 2007. I like the pressure trace info on 45/70 with black comparing std LR 210 primer to Mag LR 215 primer, the exterior ballistics read is a little shallow but still good. You can never have too many reloading manuals;)

Speer #14 is my number one reference and has a good representation of powders but it isn't big enough to hold all the information available. It's a good place to start. Powder manufacturers provide more load data for free that you can add to fill in the blanks. Other manuals have information Speer doesn't and there are caliber specific load books too. You bought an excellent manual.
