I will be buying my first melting pot soon and after looking at them today at Sportsmans, I am thinking about buying the LEE 20# bottom pour model, looks like I could use this model for ladel casting as well ?

Thanks, looks like the LEE is a very good deal. They didn't have a 20# model, only 10's and it looked like it would be way to confined to ladel from the 10.

For bottom pouring, the 4" high models are easier to maneuver moulds under than the 2" high ones.

I have a lee 10lb'er and ladle poring is not really feezable unless you fill the ladle through the bottom pore spout. Or plug the hole and remove the "rod".

How do you plug the hole so that it is not permanent and the rod can be replaced when needed for bottom use ?
