There's lots of talk about safety in the various threads on this site, and rightly so. This covers the shooting side and I consider it worth sharing.

I shot my first elk when I was 13. That Christmas my dad gave me the rifle I'd used to do it. A Remington 721 in 30-06. This page (from a copy of Gun Week I believe) was folded up and stuck to the stock with a red bow. I plan on sticking it to the same rifle when I pass it along to my son some day.

Enjoy yourselves but safety first gentlemen!

A wonderful idea, both the gun and the message.

But first teach him all you can.
