The boar was probably screaming "Where are the rest of the sows?" Where I grew up was the largest concentration of hogs per square mile of anywhere in the US. The ratio at breeding time was closer to 1:30 or more..........And a pair of hogs can be "locked" together for 30 minutes or more.

We threw out about 30 gallons of long turned hard apple cider. It had sat in our farm house basement for 2 or 3 years. We poured the vinegar into the hog troughs and sure enough the dozen sows drank it down. Ever see a drunk pig? We had 12 of them squealing and carrying on in the hog yard, most had a tough time standing up. I kinda wonder what would have been happening if we would have had our boar in the yard with the drunk sows?Robert
