I got to clean out my club's indoor range with a fellow member/buddy. We split the take(first photo). The second photo is my total cache of range scrap. I'm getting there. Some day i'll sort through all of it and my wheel weights! Oh happy days......

I drooled a little bit. You are a lucky man. I mentioned doing this to the rangemaster at the indoor spot I frequent. He basically acted like I wouldn't want "all those jackets mixed in there". I didn't push it. I have a feeling he has a nice little side project going to pocket some extra cash.

I pay $10 per bucket for the indoor stuff. The brass more than covers that. I think your rangemaster is gettting crafty.

Gotta love a five gallon bucket full of the good stuff. I'm working on my second bucket, but it comes from an outside public range-slow go.

I'd bet your SUV had a bit of a "squat" to it.

Actually, happiness is a stockpile of ingots. You have a stock pile of work ahead of you.

I got 1400 pounds of outdoor range scrap last year and have about half still to smelt down. Lots of work to go.

Enjoy the stockpile but keep adding to it.

Sweet score! Two of my brothers are in the auto mechanic field so wheel weights are always around. They typically have 150 pounds ready for me every couple of months.

Didn't even think about all the bullets at indoor gun ranges. I'm usually asking about all the range brass.

So your gonna smelt it and flux it a few times and offer some up for sale on here, right?! I've got first dibs on a few MFRBs!

Actually happiness is a stockpile of cast bullets seated in their brass homes ;)

I love the process more than shooting. I shoot so much, just so i can start over again. Lol

Nice haul! I have about 3 five gallon buckets of COWW ingots and half a bucket of SOWW ingots, but my FIL manages a tire shop so I get wheel weights pretty much when I want them. I am working on a bullet trap for my range in my backyard so I can stop begging for lead and just recycle my own! My family is starting to tire of me begging for lead like a homeless crack head when we are out in public LOL!

Glad you got a chuckle RP! It's fun to embarrass teenagers so the more they protest, the more I ask LOL

Just looking at that pile makes my back hurt. Good luck with the processing and start pumping up your ladel arm at the gym.

My indoor ranges sells their stuff to a scrap dealer. I could get some from them but it really looks nasty.

I pick up BPCR boolits at my local Gun Club's silhouette range, after every rainstorm, a fresh supply:grin: of 400 gr or bigger misses best scrounge 110 lb in 1 hour

I know this isn't the right forum, but I've had some requests. I'm going to smelt and pack two MFRB's tomorrow for the taking/sharing(at going castboolits rate). PM if interested, otherwise I'll post in S&S tomorrow.

I wish all of you could have paid a visit to a telephone company pole yard back when there were bins twenty feet long filled with scrap cable lead. One man I knew started a bullet supply business and kept it going until he retired. I bet you can't guess were he got his supply of lead for his bullets. Let's see, did I ever cast a bullet from any of that lead. I just can't remember.
