Soaked the phone books over night and here are the results.
The pure lead boolits were 7/8" wide.
You'll notice the CUT boolits I scored with an exato knife to try and see if they would peddle(5 cuts 5 peddles).
I asked Swede if he made HP pins with 5 sides and the answer was no but i'd still like to have them. Mabe I'll start a poll to see what intrest there is in them?
Looks like the pure soft lead worked the best for expansion as the 14 BHN boolits shot at higher volicities broke-up and lost over 2/3 there weight, these are their weights, 84gr,107gr and 112gr. They started out at 230gr.
Thoughts?

Beautiful! I'm guessing these are from the recent group buy 41 mag molds by Blammer?

I cast some up yesterday and loaded tonight. I plan on shooting them tomorrow. At the upper portion of the crimp groove my OAL was 1.685. They function "ok" right now in my marlin. I need to get the OAL down closer to 1.650. I'll have to crimp past the crimp groove a smidgen I guess or leave them as is and see how they work.

On the up side, I took a sample of 20 and my weights ranged from 229.8gr to 230.6 with the average 230.2. I'm very pleased with that.
That's with COWW + 2% tin.

Nevermind. Looking over your notes, it looks like this is a 45 acp mold. Disregard my previous ramblings

Looking good for sure. I haven't had a chance to put all of my saved up newspaper to use yet, hopefully soon.

The alloy I am using is starting out as a 1/3/96 more or less and I add in enough pure lead and tin to bring the antimony down and the tin up to equal levels as best I can with the calculator posted in the Alloy section. What I'm ended up with is approximately a 1.5/1.5/97 which has shown to be great for expansion as well as being ductile enough to expand right back to the bases without fracturing.

Keep up the good work, hopefully the grandkids and I will get a chance soon to play with some wet paper as well.
