.460 Dia and 260 Gr & Unique ?

OK a few weeks back I found a used Lyman 2 Cavity 452664 mold for a great price

OK , reason for the great price
It made great looking .4505 dia. bullets

So I showed it to a friend and ask him to do his magic

I now have a mold that drops 2 .460 - .461 (and round )boolits that are just over 260 gr

I did a hundred last night to try out the mold


My question is
How much Unique ?
I was hoping for a 1500 - 1600 FPS plinker load IN THE 45/70 ( there I fixed my screw up )

As I have 14+ lbs of Unique to play with

I would say 6-7 gr of unique would be where you want.

You might get more comments if you had stated the caliber. I use from 7 to 10 grains of Unique in .45 Colt.

I got 2 miles down the road to the Doc's and I knew I had screwed up
