Many gave all
All gave some

Please thank a Veteran

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

For our tomorrow
They gave their today

Thanks so much Bill

My girlfriend asked what I was watching. She's crying now too.

I thank God every day that I am an American. The words are small and can never express what is in my heart, but to all who put on the uniform and took the oath, stood fast and held the line, did not run when they should have, and to those who never came home, you have my undying thanks and admiration.

I couldn't watch it with dry eyes. It's truly sad that 30% or 40% can. Sicker still are the people that voted for and still support the current administration. We could not be defeated by external forces but we are being defeated from within.

thanks for the link, sad to say though that few really understand the price of freedom today. My family has served America since the late 1700's that I know of and right down to Vietnam my time in service along with a Cousin that came home to be buried a very long time ago. I have not looked to see if any family members have been in anything since me.

I have a son who will be 8 years old this year and wonder each time we are together if at a very old age I will be praying for my son's save return to me from combat. I will never tell him not to go if we are still free in a decade to go. My parents didn't want me to go and still I went and endured the negative feelings that were directed towards me because of my decision for part of my time in service. It was one time when I came home from summer tour( yea I was a reservists) that my dad asked me what I did for that 18 days and so I told him and he never said anything bad about my joining the military. You see some of us understood what it meant to put on that uniform and be part of something that was much bigger than ourselves and that we could support those who gave so much and came home with issues. I saw some that had lost limbs and wanted to die, not on my tour, I saw some that had been burned by napalm and still others that made the last journey.
It was not my MOS as I was a combat engineer instructor site chief of many sites, nope not normal just the way things worked out. I went up in a pay grade for every year I was there and was up for a promotion when I walked away. The DOD kept track of where I was for over 40 years after I walked away so I must have done something they liked.

I am an old man now but would stand for America again if only to be the last ditch group to give others that can move faster and with more agility than I have anymore a chance to get away to fight another day. In days gone by we would be called canon fodder as there would be very little chance we would make it through the conflict.

If we want our freedom, our country back we have to get rid of the progressive, socialist, communist that infect our Government at all levels. I don't think it possible but there is still hope we again be the home of the free and brave and god fearing nation that I once knew.

That doesn't describe cannon fodder, that is the rear guard ... which in modern terminology means,
'I got your back'.

Yes it is cannon fodder if you look what was used when the cannon balls were all used up and you still had powder. You loaded whatever you could that would make the enemy think maybe it wasn't such a good idea to charge that cannon battery after all. That is what us old guys would be. We could still raise the price of advancing but know full well the odds of seeing another day on this earth are very slim. Not saying that is how I would want to leave this life but if it would help my country to remain free then the price is right.

I get so upset when I see my country being pulled down into socialism/communism and so many liking the ride. Have we done such a poor job that our kids and grand kids don't understand that freedom has a price that must be paid. It must be paid in blood, guts and yes sometimes firearms. We as a nation don't know who to really call friends in the world anymore, we have been brainwashed into thinking you can buy friends, countries to be our allies, and worst of all that everyone has a right to be, do and live anyway they please and who care who it hurts or diminishes them. We think that the color of your skin, the way you talk, walk, or live is up for ridicule. We think that it is ok to take things for nothing as it is owed to us.

The we I refer to is us as a nation not as anyone one group or state or community as there are many places where freedom is still understood and taught and lived. Every time I read of another military person, police officer, paramedic, doctor or nurse, student, teacher or even just an individual that has been harmed it saddens me to think we have sunk this low as a people.

We were once the nation that the world looked up to for everything good, now the world looks at us and laughs. We as a nation are so far in debt our great grand kids will still be yoked to our current debt. We are so stupid as a nation we are what like 26th in the world now. We have teachers that know how to teach but are forced to follow Common Core which is nothing more than the continued dumbing down of our kids.

I was in a store recently and the cashier a young person was having trouble making change as I gave her a larger bill and change so I got back only paper money and no change. Her manager had to come over and help. I don't think it had anything to do with the cashier other than she had never been taught how to deal with money.

time for my milk and cookies, sorry for the rant, just one of those days

The guy with the Battle of the Bulge patch is Mr Hope. He was very close friends with my wife's grandfather and thankfully was in good enough health to attend Grandpa's funeral last year.
