Over the years this has been one of my best selling bullets, second only to the Lyman 429421. I've shot several of these over the years from my Liberty Blackhawk. The largest whitetail buck I've taken was with a bullet design very close to this one, the RCBS 45-255-SWC. All in all it's a good standard weight bullet. Others find the LBTs or other designs better but Creeker has been happy with this one. BTW the mould pictured is one of a matched pair which have cast a couple tons of bullets. These two were produced by Ballisti-Cast when Dennis owned the company just out of Plaza, ND.

Funny I was just looking at that mold yesterday on your website. About how much do you sell them for? Also would you recommend aluminum or iron or? So far I mostly use aluminum. Have one brass mold but didn't end up using it much.

Creeker, I have that in a matched pair of 6 cavities and love it.

Wrong website. I sell bullets not moulds but IMHO I like aluminum. I'm at the age now I need to allow my joints less stress. If I was hobby casting things might be different. These two moulds are a good as they come as to castability. But I spend hours on end at the pot so the lighter a mould I can use the better. Still the material these moulds are made from is second to none.

Without a doubt they are great moulds. Do you have a picture of them?

I have the same mold and it is one of my favorites. It drops perfect bullets that I use in my target .44 loads in front of Winchester Super Target.

Creeker:

I have the same mold Serial #0623-24. Can't remember what year I bought it though.

Great casting molds ! Love the sprue plates !

I think mine were 2002-03 maybe but could be 04. And those are the best sprue plates I've used.

I was wondering if that type of sprew plate was the way to go when I ordered my molds from AccurateMolds.com Wasn't sure so just went with the basic option. His don't quite look exactly like yours but have the same concept. It probably matters allot more when you get 4 or more cavities at a time. As mine are mostly 2 cavity I am guessing its not as big a deal, but thats just a guess.

It's interesting to see the HIGH regard we all seem to hold for a good bullet mould. Sometimes, I think we care more about a good bullet mould than the "great unwashed" care about a new car.

I get a LOT of satisfaction out of casting my own bullets (and shooting a good target or taking a nice head of game for the table) and a good mould just multiplies that satisfaction by a factor of "X"...

Sorry Creeker but I'm computer illiterate as far as pictures but will have to learn.

For me it is not the "trough" that makes the Ballisti-Cast plates so user friendly.
Notice the thickness !
B-C plates are 50% heftier (thicker) than any other designs !

I have a number of 4-cavity Accurate Molds and always order the standard (no trough) plate design.

I like the Ballisti-Cast plate & took that option with Accurate. My pot pours two cavities at once & for that I like the trough a bit better as I'm not as likely to flow sprue over the side.
