So I just finished my first powder coated boo lots they came out great took me two coats but they look nice so here is what I did. First I cast 20 bool it's from the lee 160 gr. 312 mould I then gc'ed them and sized them to .309 I the did one coat of hf black powder coat dry tumbled cooked them in toaster oven on toast for 15 min I them recoated and renamed for another 15. I then resized again to .309 I will be loading them on top of 18 grains of lil gun and shooting them out of 16" 300 AAC ar-15. I will post chrono results and any issues next week. I would post pics but not sure how to from iphone thank you to everyone for all the advice to get to this great end result. Thanks Sean

What was your reasoning for coating twice?
How hard was it to resize your bullets the second time?

The first coat did no get good coverage a little clumpy they sized fine but now I think I may have to expand my cases a little to load them

FYI - Buy a Lyman M-Die for expanding the case mouth. That's the best option I've found for not shaving the coating off during seating. The second best option is the Lee (or any brand) universal case mouth expander. I used that Lee for a long time before I became the latest addict of the M-Dies.

Get a mouth expander! I use the Lee universal one with excellent results. It works for all cals.

Otherwise you will always shave off the PC when seating.
