I would be interested in knowing how the PC affects the performance of the HP. What alloy did you cast with? I have been using 1/25 with excellent results with traditionally lubed boolits (.452 + BAC). Boolits expand to well over 1" in wet newsprint. Please let me know on this...Thanks.

I will be putting some of these in phone books this weekend, would it make that much difference if they are dry? I hadn't planned to wet them but if it make a big difference i will.

ShooterAZ, I used reclamed cast boolits with 2% tin.
From what I have gotten on this site powder coated boolits will get an increase in velocity over traditionally lubed boolits.
I will report back with pictures.

I think you will get much better results with wet phone books....they will probably just punch right through the dry ones. And make sure you have plenty of thickness, or you will be picking them out of the berm behind yer target. Thanks for the prelim report!

3 wet phone books for solid point probably will not stop it. Likely
will stop the HP.

Bundle up newspapers and soak in a trash bag overnight filled with water,
or same with phone books. Tie together with string and put in a trash bag
then fill with water.

Depends on the thickness of your phone books. I would try to get at least 9- 12" of thickness.

You want at least a foot of paper and more doesn't hurt. If you go less your boolits may punch through.

My shooting partner got a sh*t load of phone books from the recycler but did not soak them over night(me not happy). Even the Gold Dots and XTP's didn't open up.
So I went on with the test, it didn't turn out good as the phone books were dry.
I will repet the test later this week with wet ones.
The one that did somewhat open up is the closeup uf the one I used an exacto knife to the inside of the hollow point at 5 locations.
