I always liked what Clint Smith had to say about large-bore muzzles and the "universal language".

wish my laser was deep enough to do that on a barrel, I can do shorter ones that are removed but not many want to strip their gun down that far.

MaryB- Can you laser cut foam for gun cases?

It would have to be in pieces no larger than 20x12x1 inch thick sections, any thicker and the foam doesn't cut well. Leaves an edge that needs to dry for a week or it is sticky. Not one of the better materials to run through the laser.

Use an electric carving knife for cutting foam, works pretty well

I know some guys use a "hot wire" knife to cut foam. Then there are the guys who use an electric carving knife. Not so good.

Greetings
In the OP are those stick on letters ? Noticed the black outlines and made me wonder.
If a bad guy could read that he would be much to close for my comfort.

Having been in that situation when an "urban youth" attempted to rob me, I can safely say that if you are close enough to read letters on the muzzle of a barrel, you have a very good chance of being able to move the muzzle so that it is not pointing at you and not getting shot. Well, up until the point where he tripped over his own feet and you lose contact with the firearm and he shoots you during his fall. For some reason, these situations never end up looking like they are portrayed in the movies. <excrement> happens, ya' know...

I have a book with a picture of an original big bore blunderbuss .... Engraved in script on the top of the barrel is says: " Lucky is the man that escapeth me" Probably very few walked away unscathed from that behemoth bore ......
