I've got a Husky Model 46, seems like a no brainer for cast bullets. The jacketed ones are just under 2100 fps. I would sure shoot it a lot more if I used cast, wondering about sizing dies, molds, gas checks etc. Nominal .366 groove diameter is not a common size in the good 'ol USA. I'd appreciate any enlightenment from experienced users.
thanks,

You should definitely do a impact throat bore/groove dia.

My 46 has a .370"groove, .359"ish bore and a .370" throat..
If your throat is as large as mine and you buy a smaller dia. bullet you are screwed..
Hence I'll say it again..
Make a impact throat impression..

A quick and dirty way to get in the ballpark area is to measure the inside dia. of a unsized fired case neck that was fired using a full pressure jacketed load..

Two 146's about the same as the 46..
I have not had time to work up loads for these rifles..
When I do, will probably use a .375/250 RCBS bullet sized down to .370" to fit my throat
I will lube the bullet first in a .375" lube/sizer die "then" size down with a custom .369" or .370" LEE style push thru die made by Buckshot one of the members here..

Here is some good load info from the gunboards forum:

My throat is similar, takes a .369 pin gage, won't take a .370. Much more in the "freebore" catagory than "throat". I don't suppose that is a plus for cast bullets. Thanks for the links and ideas, when I get around to working on this I will update.
