Correct Jmortimer. You cannot correct a mistake, but can learn from it so that you will not be mistaken again in that respect.

That, my friend, depends upon who was watching when the transgression was committed.

What I want to know is if the post was a mistake how did you edit the title? I have made several mista,,,,,,,errors (almost told on myself [smilie=1:) in the title to a thread and had to get help from the mods to change it.

The OP did not edit because no "Last edited by XXXX" statement.

Unless I'm mistaken.

Could it really been a mistake if we have learned so much from it? Just wondering....

Mistakes are hard to fix and often require outside sources.

Pretty easy actually. I posted something here and then realized I did not post it on the correct forum and immediately went to delete the post but that didn't show as an option. It did permit me to edit both the title and the post which I did.

That didn't work for me but then maybe I did something wrong, I have edited my posts (Of course I make mistakes, LOT'S of them!) but a couple of times in the past I needed to correct spelling or some other such mistake in the title but it wouldn't let me and I had to ask the mods for help.

Maybe one of the mods can tell me what I was doing wrong?

Mistakes are why pencils have erasers. Obviously, people who use ink pens don't make misteaks (oops).

I thought the "Titles" were etched in permanent mistake "ink" and could not be changed. I tried a couple times to fix typos, and no-go.

it would be nice if we could merely "delete" a few of our mistakes .... [just sayin']

i'm an atrocious typer but having stated that i leave most my mistakes and only go back and edit the ones that mess up the intent/context , i also rarely notice others typo's as i've made/make so many i have found that i tend to read fluent typo ( is this a good or bad thing ???? :P )

It was a mistake to read every post. But make no mistake about it, this deleted, therefore nonexistent thread will continue to thrive making me think science makes many mistakes because how does a deleted, nonexistent thread continue? Is that question mark a mistake. Should I go back and put in a period thus eliminating the mistake? Or, would that be deleting the mistake? I'm tired now!

After a few minutes of reflection he wrote:
Defeat of de cat went over defense before detail.
