Have been shooting a NOE 55 Grain fine in a Remington with 1 in 12 & Ruger 77. Looked at Tikka but concerned the twist is too fast for 55 grain boolit.
Need advice and experienced help before I buy.
Thanks

I don't have any experience shooting cast in .223/5.56, however I can tell you that it will do fine w/ j-words. Also, you may want to check spec's; IIRC from my time working @ the LGS, Tikka's should have a 1-9", (of course that was a few years ago). Hopefully someone w/more experience w/cast will chime in.

Depending on level of accuracy you want it will do ok with cast up through 1900 - 2200 fps. If your primary reason for getting a bolt action rifle in .223 for use with that NOE 55 gr cast bullet I suggest holding out for a 12" twist at least with a 14" twist being better but probably very difficult to find.

jjnpg317,
I don't know what model Tikka you are talking about but the T3's have a 1:8 twist..
As do the new Ruger Americans..
Sadly both Tikka and Ruger saw fit "not" to increase their mag length to .245"+ to accommodate the longer 75gr plus match bullets like the supurb Hornady A-Max..

The rifle will be used only with the NOE cast boolit. It shot so well in the others, jacketed is not in the future. It appears that CZ perhaps has a 1 in 12 and will look at it. Casting, sizing, and shooting these little boolits I like and enjoy. Thanks for your help.

CZ or a Zastava. Both are mini actions downsized to fit the small cases. Both are 1:12" twist in 223 Rem. CZ has plans to change there 223 barrels to a 1:9" twist so that 1:12 won't last long. I bought a CZ in 222 Rem to get a 14 twist for cast and the smaller case capacity. Rifle is due in Monday on the UPS truck.
