I merely made two forums more visible by removing their sub-forum status. It should help in the long run.

Wonder if pennies could be used to make boolits, lead has a higher value then a penny right now lol

We had best consult with a numistmatist on this one.

After 19xx pennies have merely been a copper wash over a zinc base.

Wish I could recall what year that was.

Heck, I wish I could remember eating breakfast.

I thought it was 1982, but on Googling it I found that the change occurred during the 1982 run, so some 1982 pennies are copper and some are copper-washed zinc. 1983 and later are all zinc ones.

Whatever. Not long ago I proposed casting bullets out of zinc --what they're making pennys (pennies?) out of these days-- and y'all scorned and laughed at me.

Not me. I thought it was an interesting field for experiment. Not that I've done any experimenting with it...

so, I wonder if you smelt a bunch of new pennies, seperate the zinc and the copper, sell each back to the scrap yard.... probably make more money than the pennies are worth!

I think pennies cost more than a cent to make. If not, close to it.

The fact that it's illegal to deface or destroy pennies probably doesn't make any difference to any one on this forum!

actually it's not.

otherwise all those 'flatten the penny machine with the theme park logo on it" would not be allowed.
