Anyone shoot this bullet? Just looking for some tips as far as loading. I am planning on using GC and WW. Since I am new to casting (just a little 44 experience) should I mix the WW with Lino or can I use it straight?

WWs work great, just make sure the metal is clean before you cast a bullet.Lee says you only need a gas check above 1400 fps but i gc my C309-113-f & C309-150-f simply because i cant seem to get my lyman 450 adjusted right. putting on GCs is a PITA, but so is cleaning lube off the bases.

I would throw in some Lino, or Tin with the wheelweights. It'll make em flow and fill out better. If you want them hard, drop them out of the mold in water, or add a bunch of linotype.

9 1/2 lbs wheelweights and 1/2 lb tin is Lyman #2 alloy, what I use. It will work with out being quenched. I also cast some out of pure Linotype. They are beautiful.

9 Lbs wheelweights, 1 lb 50/50 bar solder = #2 Alloy

4 lbs Linotype, 1 lb 50/50 solder, 5 lbs lead = #2 alloy

Quenched boolits are supposed to be sized right after being poured (the same day) and will harden in a few days to weeks.

.............Possum, I've shot that boolit out of a Ruger BH, and a M38 7.35 Carcano. What are you planning on shooting it out of?

Hi Possum,
I shoot it out of my .30 carbine. It drops at right around between .308 & .309 out of the mold so fits that gun real good & has been the most accurate thing I've shot out of it. It's just too small in diameter to work out of anything else I own .30 caliber-wise.

Buckshot, I was going to shoot it out of a 15" 30.06 Encore barrel.
