Have any of you done any accuracy comparisons between these two designs?

One is about 170 gr vs 150 gr. Accuracy will largely be dependent on the barrel of the rifle firing them, and is largely barrel dependent. The question is- which is more accurate/effective in your rifle. Neither are target boolits. As long as I could get a five inch group @ 100 yds I'd be willing to use it to shoot a deer! ("It" being which ever of them I had.)

In my ' 06, I use the RCBS 180 GC. Great boolit! I have the 150 RCBS mold but I have not used it lately.

I have both moulds and shoot both in mostly my M94s and .308Ws. Different loads for each bullet of course but can't say one is more accurate than the other. With their respective loads both bullets shoot to the accuracy capability of cast in the rifles. I do prefer the heavier 311041HP for big game hunting though. Mine fully dress out at 177 gr with my hunting alloy. The 150s will sure enough kill deer also, especially the smaller southern white tails and coastal black tails.

Thanks for the info--I've never had a Lyman 311041, but I've used the RCBS 30-150-FN in many .30 cal rifles down thru the years and have had great accuracy success with it. My RCBS 30-150-FN boolits end up weighing between 160 and 161g sized and checked from ww+ 1% tin alloy.
I recently golombed onto a nice 5 cavity NOE 30-165-FN with one cavity plain based, that I'm looking forward to playing around with this year. Weight with gas check is 173-174g. Strangely, the plain based boolits weigh only 171-172g even tho they mic the same at .310 sized.
Anyone have any experience with this boolit in the .30-30, .30-06 or .308 Win?
Thanks--Shuz
