I would like to make my first purchase for a mold to be used in a .30-.30 and maybe a .308. I would like a bullet that could be used for hunting deer maybe up to 200 yards. What are your suggestions?
thanks

Pretty hard to beat the tried and true 311041 for that. You might read; http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?225452-Back-quot-in-the-day-quot

The RCBS 308 200gr sil is great for the .308 Win cartridge.

That Lee 160 RHGC has short well in both my 30/30 and more recently in my new 308 but If hunting I would choose a flat nose.

I started with a lee 309-170-F and have never found a reason to try anything else. Dropped a doe at 80+ yards from my Winchester 94 30-30 this last fall.

For both 06 and 30-30, I too like the Lee 170-FP. I've been using the same single cavity for 20 years and haven't "needed" to change. I would like to try Lyman's 311041 though...I'm sure that's a fine boolit too.

I've had very good luck in a lot of .30 cal rifles, including a couple .30-30 Marlins, with the RCBS 30-150FN. I believe it is very similar to the Lyman 311041.

thanks for your suggestions. I will give either the 311041 or lee 309-170 f a try.
