A member here just sent this video.

With the approaching drop in temp and remembering all of the young folks that will be out there walking their post "IN A MILITARY MANNER" watch this and keep a dry eye.

Bill
I am in my mid 60's and my son is 8 and I may never get to greet him when he comes home on leave. How do I know he will choose the military? Just things we do now when the weather lets us.

My parents never wanted me to go into the military, weren't pleased when I can home on leave. After a few years of me being in uniform my dad told me he wondered what it was that I did. I told him keeping it simple I teach people to kill on a large scale or to move material so others can do the killing or work with those who have been to the edge of hell and returned. He never asked me again what I did.

I friend of mine from high school was in Vietnam and has agent orange, krons, and other issues. Me mine are more unseen until the last few years. Others have lost eyes, limbs, etc. and can be seen, but even they have unseen issues.

For the most part we are still back dealing with those of civil war that came home and were never the same again.

As I was posting the video they said temperatures across most of the country will have a wind chill factor of 50 BELOW in the next few days.

Please remember there WILL be many of our young military out there guarding each and every military base in that weather.

Just an other reason to thank each and every one of them for their service.

It does not matter if they are in the sandbox or somewhere on a flightline in Nebraska it still is a miserable job that most will never willingly do.

Yep, and I heard awhile back that only 1%(IIRC)serve nowadays! Only 1%? Shamefull!
But thank you Bill for posting that reminder.
