Here is a pic of the buck
Nothing huge , but a good eater
It did dress out at 140 lb

The doe pic's didn't come out as I now have water in the lens of my camera

Both were shot with my Ruder Redhawlk 44 mag using 429244 that I poured 2 part , pure lead nose and WW body
Then water droped

At about 60 yds
He took it thru the lungs with the bullet hiting the shoulder blade as it exited
Trashed the lungs
He ran about 40 yds and piled up

But of course he had to run into the middle of a patch of rose bushes

My arms were bleeding also as I got him out

The doe was shot at about 20 yards
She lost her ears
I didn't want to track her , as it was raining pretty hard
So I put the red dot on her head and droped her on the spot

Good thing I was hunting out of a box blind , or I would have quit way earlyer

After I feild dressed her , walked back to the barn , picked up the ATV and cart
I picked up my 2 and 3 others for other guys

I was able to ring water from my shorts and pour it out of my boots
Oh did I say it was raining [smilie=b: :holysheep [smilie=b:

Those 2 will finish off the freezer
As I took 3 does with the bow earlyer

Well done!

But how come the deer died? I thought it took a 300+ hard cast bullet with a huge meplat to penetrate through a deer like that? (Tongue in cheek)

How much lead for the nose pour? Load and barrel length if you don't mind. Thanks

LOL I have had exalant results using the 429215 at 1450 fps out of straight WW
Just have to hit the lungs well
I would not take a Texas Heart shot with that setup though :drinks:

I cut the nose off a bullet with a hacksaw and melted it into a 380 case with a handle brazed to it
I then filed off the excess case
That is my nose dipper , cheap and easy to use
I just use a tuna can on a hotplate to melt the nose lead

My guess is about 70 gr maybe 80 gr
20 gr of 2400 and a Fed Large pistol primer for around 1400 fps ( never checked )

I found a few lead chips/chunks that broke off the mushroomed bullet where it hit the shoulderblade
But by then the nose had done it's job

The pistol is a Blue 7 1/2" Ruger Redhawlk with a 30mm Millit red dot on it
Wearing a set of Packmyer Gripper Decelerator grips
