Thought this might help someone. I removed the case chuck head from a Lyman Universal trimmer, drilled a hole in pool ball, and then assembled the two. I removed the thumb stud from the case chuck because it was just in the way. This has solved my issue of hanging onto a case while using the RCBS case prep center or other tools that require me to grip the case by the base. The case in the photo is a 223. You can get the chuck head from Lyman for $16 + shipping, according to their website.

Someone on this site has a similar setup using a wooden ball and a Lee chuck. I can't remember who it was and I can't find the thread I saw it in, but thanks for the idea.
Now if I can just figure out a method of holding the case from the other end in a similar tool to do the primer pocket uniforming........
