Has anyone swore thier chrono was going to hell? I was sure mine was kaput this mornin, but I just pulled some bullets to make sure it wasn't me that was at fault and low and behold you get 400fps less than you want if you are off 10 grs powder.I gues I was tryin to save myself money and didn't even know it.:-?

It sure beats having 10 grains more than you want in there!

If it was exactly 10 gr it sounds as if you misadjusted your scales when you were setting up. Easy to do, and awfully unfortunate if you do it in the wrong direction.

Just did the same thing yesterday. Loaded 5 rounds and shot my Model 8 .32 Remington loaded with 20 grs. AA2230 and it wouldn't cycle the action. Came home, opened up my record book and confirmed the load. Decided to up the charge by 3 grs. and when I started to set the scale I found it set for 10 grs. I counted each mark by 10 instead of five. I'll be 70 in January and I think I should start thinking of a new hobby. Just renewed my drivers license, too. Maybe I should rethink that.

Naw, it's time to rethink when you can't remember what it was you wanted to rethink:-D As long as you figured it out.

My powder scale is a RCBS 10-10. The adjustments are in 10 gr. increments on the left of the balance beam and 1/10gr. increments , up to 10gr., on the right of it. I have came very close to making the 10gr mistake a few times, but not quite. It would be VERY easy to do. Just goes to prove, NO distractions while loading. Like dubber says 10gr to the high side could have been a lot worse. Loading demands our FULL attention.
