Hello,

I'm working on some hunting loads to shoot in my Pedersoli Sharps out to 200 yards. I've been shooting 63gr. of FFg with a SPG lube biscuit under a 405gr bullet with mag primers. Been getting really good groups but thought I'd ask if there may be a better load out there? Also looking to buy some bullets and some wanting to try some paper patch bullets.

Thanx

Better load how?

If you are getting good accuracy using what you are using I would stick with it. Black can give some awesome accuracy and you are using a bullet weight that is reasonable for hunting.

I wouldn't change a thing. Accuracy is number one and it sounds like you have that already.

If you just want variety I have the Lyman 457122 Gould HP (single cavity) and an old Lee group buy 420gr fp. PM me and we can talk. BTW, post your location so we have some idea where in the world you are.

you can use AA 5744 powder to duplicate the same velocities achieved with black powder and be pressure safe for those type of rifles. visit accurate powder's web site for the loads. enjoy. JimP.

Lee 405 HB is a great boolit design, but if you already have a load running, like btroj says,
you are there.

OTOH, everyone likes to experiment. RCBS 405 GC is a great one, too.

I think I have a handful of boolits in various weights - if you will cover shipping I'll send them to you since I have standardized on the 405 grain bullet.

edited to add - just took a quick look - I can readily lay hands on 405 grain cast and 405 grain jacketed. Might be others somewhere on the bench too....
