Do you have any idea what this mold was originally designed for? The reason I ask is I just purchased a used 4 cavity. I don't know how to post a picture but it is a short ogive round nose design with 2 lube grooves and a wide driving band up front.

That was a light weight target bullet for the .45acp cartridge. Used by some Bullseye shooters at the 25 yd line for timed and rapid fire stages for less recoil and better shot to shot recovery. A good light weight .45 bullet.

The only add-on I have is that it is harder to secure reliable function with that boolit than the similar weighted but longer snouted 452-488 or H&G 130 designs. I have a two cavity that casts .456 that gets use in 45 colt for use in an old Colt New Century with .455-.457 throats.

I'm not sure what its original intent was but I have it and like it. Lube groves on mine are the same as the 452460 so I don't have to re-adjust the Star when sizing the two. If we shoot a lot in one day I can tell the difference in recoil between it and the 452460 which is only 15 grns heavier. Some 1911s don't like to run it without work.
