My father gave me his Lyman 45 sizer/lubricator. Several questions. Anyplace to get a parts list and diagram? Any sources for parts for these? Do sizing dies for the Lyman 4500 work in this sizer? I have sent two emails to Lyman and have recevied no acknowledgement or reply. I guess they figure I am not buying new equipment so they will not bother.:(

The 45 takes the same dies as the newer Lyman and RCBS. Don't where to get a diagram if not frm Lyman. I'm sure somebody here has a copy they can make a copy of for you.

This reminds me that I need a pressure screw for one.

Lyman was real good when I emailed them. I was looking at several on ebay. Lyman answered my questions via email, then mailed a 2 page parts breakdown of the 45. I think a scanned form is somewhere out there, if not let me know, I can mail you a copy of mine.

This reminds me that I need a pressure screw for one.

The newer #450 O-ring piston fits the #45. It won't leak lube like the original brass #45 piston does.

Here is an instruction sheet. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/imashooter2/Lyman_45.pdf

I would like to find a parts list if anyone has one that would be great, not that you can get parts but at least I can use the correct terminology when I am trouble shooting it.

My instruction sheet includes a parts list, but it's two pages at 3.86 MB per page. That won't even go by PM, let alone as an attachment to a post.

Grumpy: Should be able to upload it to photobucket or another site like that one.

Hunter64:

I have a couple of copies of that sheet, too. If you look real close, you can see that instead of the Chapman ratchet wrench fitting the hex on the pressure screw used on most No. 45's, this one has the old non-ratcheting wrench fitting the tapered square as used on the older No. 1's. Apparently the first No. 45's used this one, too.

grumpy one:

I'd be REAL obliged if you'd e-mail a copy to me: <floodgate@pacific.net>.

I would like one also, it would be easier if you could upload it to a photobucket or something so everyone could get a copy.

It's an Adobe Acrobat file that I uploaded so everyone could get a copy. Free viewer available for download at adobe.com. Can't get much easier than that...

Having belatedly looked at the instruction sheet, I now see that what I took for a parts list is actually a list of the available sizing dies. Embarrassing.

Sorry Doug - I've emailed it anyway, in case it's a version you don't have, but it probably isn't. It just came with a fairly late production 45.

Gentlemen
I downloaded the operating sheet that Hunter 64 provided. I see the part that is broken in the diagram. We are making progress.

Floodgate - PM sent

Thank you all for the help :)
