Yea. Two bullets of equal hardness yada, yada. Were these sized the same?

The 311291's were sized .001" over what the gun likes, and actually were loaded as an afterthought because they were checked and lubed and I had a little daylight left.

I was originally just going to run the 30-150-FN's but the little lady volunteered to record the numbers and change targets so I had some extra daylight. Watchin' a tall thin redhead in tight shorts make the trip to backstop and back kinda makes it hard to concentrate on tight groups.

This is my first post as I just registered today. I want to thank you guys for the data and info you are passing on. For the most part I have been one of those bolt action 30-06 Springfield Nuts! I purchased a Marlins 336's in 30-30 Cal. not long ago. The story was, some guy bought it for his wife about 20 yeas ago. It pretty well lived under their bed untouched for about 19 yrs. 11 months and 28 days. I have shot it a couple of times with boolits I made with a RCBS 30-150 FN mould, not bad so far, but I am experimenting with loads and powders, so was glad to find your info. I will pass on some results as soon as I accumulate this info.
Thanks again, Mac

Cobb Mt---Welcome aboard Mac. It's a shame that 30-30 can't talk. Been under a guys bed for 20 years and he never shot it. Makes you wonder what he might have been doing to be too busy to go shoot it.

Hey, Mac--welcome aboard.

My Win 94 in 25-35 had a similar history--bought by a guy for his wife to use hunting in the mid-1950's, she got a couple deer with it--then it sat for almost 40 years. Hard to figure why a rifle would just sit for so long, but my '73 x 44-40 sat around for about 65 years before it got hunted with again. It does happen--but in our cases, thankfully very seldom.

Great to hear from you Deputy Al, thanks for the Welcome. Now that I am on this Board, I hope to be speaking a little more often. The main thing is, I have always liked to read and learn from the EXPERTS. Now don't everone go thinking you are EXPERTS, you know I am speaking to "Deputy Al".
I know-----you-----are-----all----- experts, its just that Deputy Al deserves Capital Letters.
Looking forward to NCBS 2006! Mac

Mac, welcome and what took you so long to get here? We need your inventions posted here, now that we have a new home. You are a real expert, too.

Expert?? Dunno about that, Mac--but thanks for the kind words. A TRUE expert would get that 25-20 of mine acting right in less than 300 rounds and two months--and there's a LOT more time and casting metal invested than that.

Hey curmudgeon, thanks for the Welcome. I know I should have been on this board along time ago but had a lot of road blocks that slowed us down. Now it looks like I'm back on the freeway, at least that is what I'm going to believe. I'll do a little investigation on how to put pics on this sight. Then sometime I'll put my Floorjack adjustable heighth bottom pour melting pot on, just in case there is someone out there like me that has a bending problem.

.............Mac welcome and about time. That bro in law of your's has been a bit absent here lately too, BTW.

To post a pick you need to have it hosted somewhere on the web, where you can create an address for it. Then all you have to do is to type and for the end .

Then post the photo's address in between those two bracketed IMG things you typed. So it will look like this:

and this is the image address cut and pasted in

Naturally there would be no spaces as I have between the words, OR after or before the 2 and dealies.

Hope that's understandable :D

Buckshot, it is always good to hear from you. I read a lot of your posts as I considered you an EXPERT! Besides, I just like the way you put things down.
I really thank you for the helping me in regards to putting pics on this sight. I believe I understand and hope I don't have to ask more, but if I need to I will. I had a host that I used for pics on the last sight, but don't remember who or where they were. That is probably because the pics turned out terrible and in my system they look great. If you or anyone has a good suggestion, I'm all EARS? It will probably be a few days or more before I try.
Ya, My B-in-Law did mention to me in an email that he noticed I was on talking to some old friends. I imagine him hearing this EXPERT (BS), even though he is one, probably makes him want to Puke! It won't surprise if he shows up soon.
Thanks again, Mac

Something is not right about that. You are getting heavy leading at 1949 and I am shooting cast at 2700 in my 223 remington 788 with out leading. but I will try some of the loads in my Marlin 336 with the rcbs 180gn fngc. I am using bs speed green lube with the 2700fps load. I suggest that you try some bs speed green, and I believe that will fix you problem 100%
