I've tried just about every technique to seat gas checks squarely that is known to man.

Some of the techniques worked great, some were slow, some didn't work very well at all and left me with a g/c that wasn't seated squarely on the g/c shank of the cast bullet.

I've settled on this technique now. It seats squarely, the system is fast, and offers cast bullets with accuracy potential that can and / do shoot better than I can.

The beauty of this system it is that with a bit of scrap metal and some JB weld, a drill press and the appropriate size drill bit, you could do this also with your Lyman 45.

A good feature is that no permanent modification of the Lyman 45 is required. If you don't like it, in 2 minutes your Lyman 45 can returned to it's original condition.

Another beauty of this system is once installed on your Lyman 45 , you can seat .22 cal. - 50 cal. g/c's with no adjustments necessary.

I REALLY DO LIKE MINE !

Give it a try.

The " stop " that you'll install places the center of the plate in the same identical position each time you swing the g/c seater plate into position :

Ben, you always have great ideas and then do and excellent job of explaining them and providing photos that take the guess work out of it.

Thanks for those nice comments !

I can learn, but I'm a bit more visual than some people.

If I can watch you do it, there is a good chance I can do it also.............

Well stated. Being able to visualize something makes all the difference. The proverbial photo being worth a thousand words......
