Do any of the mfr's currently chamber their bolt or lever action rifles for the .358 Winchester?
Also, what older models are out there in this chambering that a guy might be on the lookout for?

Goodsteel ( Malcolm Ballistic Technologies ) can put a 358 barrel on about anything you want. You will get a barrel and chamber straight to several digits after the decimal point for about the cost of a budget line rifle, and he is a great guy.

Ruger chambered there Hawkeye bolt action for awhile. I don't know if it's still in production or not. I let one slip by me not long ago.

Browning BLR is still made in 358 I believe.

I think Ruger was the last major manufacturer to chamber a production bolt action rifle for the .358 Winchester; and I am not sure if Browning even still makes the BLR.

As for older rifles, the Model 88 Winchester or the ever elusive Savage Model 99 would make good hunting rifles. Seems like the Sako Finnwolf may have been chambered in .358 also, I have never seen one if it was.

I think most of the manufacturers made at least a few bolt actions in .358; but finding one for sale is the trick.

I bought a new Browning BLR in the spring of this year in 358. I also bought one of the last of the Rugers that Buds was clearing out last year. The Rugers were a limited run but the BLR is a current production gun.

Browning makes it in the lever action as has already been mentioned, but what's really cool is they make version of it in a takedown model. Want one bad.

I grabbed one of the 358 win hawkeyes when they come out.
best new gun purchase I ever made, I wish I would have grabbed the 257 Roberts I seen too.
I have shot nothing but cast through it and have never bothered to buy a copper bullet for the thing.
I tried one boolit and tweaked the load about 1 grain of powder and have shot it like that ever since, I see no reason to change.

Do any of the mfr's currently chamber their bolt or lever action rifles for the .358 Winchester? NO for bolt YES lever, Browning for the lever
Also, what older models are out there in this chambering that a guy might be on the lookout for?Ruger, Savage, Winchester, and a few others

If you are wanting a 358 Winchester in a bolt gun, keep an eye out on Gun broker some do come around but usaly go for $800+. If you aren't in the mood to wait and have a 243, 7mm-08, or 308 laying around not being used. Give Jess at http://www.35caliber.com/index.html a call and set a date to have your rifle sent in and re bored to 358 Winchester, which is a good option at $225.

Thanks for all the replies. I had a pre 81 BLR in .358, but it fed finicky from the magazine and had a gritty trigger, so I sold it. If it weren't for those "issues" I'd would have kept it. I guess I'll look for a Hawkeye on the used market or perhaps have a .308 length action bolt gun re-done.
