So what is the sweet spot for this combo? I know the boolit is a little light for this twist, but it's going to be used is a few other rifles as well.

Is 1800-2000 out of the question?

This will end up being another PC test I'm sure.

Stoked to be getting a 6 cav. .225 mold! My first .22 mold truth be told.

I have been getting good results at 100 yards with 50 grain Vmax in my Savage Axis 1:9 twist, I just picked a 22 bator mold so will be giving cast a try in the bolt gun. With 22lr impossible to find a lower velocity 223 will be just right for squirrels and rabbits

I'd start at 18 grs of 4895.
a little Dacron wouldn't hurt.

go down to castpics and go to john's [beagle's] article on the 22's [I think it's subtitled "why grown men cry"]
there is some very good advice to get you started.

Bolt gun or AR?

Start with 15 gr 4895 or Varget. Work up in 1/2 gr increments. Use a 1/3 gr Dacron filler with either powder. 1800 - 2000 fps with accuracy is very doable with a 9" twist 20-26" barrel. If in an AR best accuracy will be right at or just above functional reliability.

It's one of those "it depends" type things . In a Stevens bolt rifle I have an RCBS 2255SP and eleven grains of 2400 does real well in a one in nine twist . Using the RCBS 2255FN that weighs exactly the same I still haven't found what it likes consistantly .

So I'd say it's is an achievable goal just start running that press handle .
