This followed me home this weekend. I am posting the links, as the photos are large.

1903-A3, Remington, serial in the 35xxxxx range. It appears to have had a straight stock, or why else cut into it this way?
And I am not sure how, or why, that rear buckhorn was put on it. As you can see, it has a bit of a ways to go.
Not the least of things being that I only know a small amount about the 1903's.
Any advice on parts or sources? Numerich is low on parts, it appears.

Try Springfield Sporters, they have a lot of parts. Also check CMP forums. All else fails try EBay

That one looks like it has been over the river and thru the woods a time or two. There is a Bobs gun parts that has a lot of old parts. I get a bulletin from them about every two or three months. Google the name.

Struck out on the rear sight, both at Bob's and Springfield Sporters. Any more places to look?
Yeah, it had a rough life. but it has sat on a corner or safe for so long, that the rubber recoil pad has collapsed, and permanently deformed.

I'd shoot it before I started doing anything to it.
that buck horn might be set up to act like a peep sight and it might work pretty well.

I got this badly monkeyed-with one from the local gun store for 150.

I am in there at least weekly, and the guys know I have a very low budget. lol
