896658966689667Got 2 pigs and 9 smaller pigs of lino from a friend that works at a print shop, traided pure lead pound for pound for this lino.
Got an unknown metal in pig form for .85lb.
A piece of the unknown metal I broke off the corner.

Prolly monotype pig.... The hardness is about right for that.....

Well, since you got the stuff from a printer friend of yours, that "unknown pig" might be the stuff they used to replenish the lino after many uses. Unfortunately, I don't remember off the top of my head what that alloy makeup was.....

Difficult to tell. I'd take a small chunk of it and melt it with some lead and see what come out like.
Check the lead mix chart here to at least try for what you need for casting .
There is a member that did testing of lead, not sure who it was if you want to send a sample off to him ?
Some one chime in on this maybe . Still good score .

I got two pigs like that that had holes on the top. They were old counter weights for doors. Very hard!
