I'm just getting started with this bullet in a Brazilian 1908 in 7x57. Bore is closer to .285 than .284 so I've beagled the mould and lapped out a sizing die to .287. Can anyone point me in the right direction with some proven loads?

Leftoverdj, .285 huh! Lucky you. My 1908 Brazilian measures .2885, and is giving me fits. I'd love to find a Lyman 287308 mould, which Lyman claims a normal cast diameter of .289, according to the 45th edition reloading book...Ray

I've got two of these (No, they're not for sale) and both cast at 0.287".

I got some to come out to .287 which is good enought for one of mine but not the other. I am next going to try wrapping some with tepflon tape and see if that helps. If that works I will then lap out my mould to .289.

45 2.1, thanks for confirming that. At least that's in beagling territory. How about 287405, Lyman claims a normal as cast of .288. I've got an RCBS 7mm-168-SP that drops at .285. It vents so well that if I try to beagle it I end up with pins at each vent line...Ray

I just did some with 9g of red dot some filler for the powder. Did about 1" at 50 y. I plan to run up the load some more!
