Can't enter chat room

Having a problem entering the chat room/s. Get a message that need a newer version of Java. Click on the button to download the applet, and get message that the applet is starting and then it stops.
Am running XP-SP2, medium security, popups blocked. Could it be my AV or firewall?

sounds like the pop up blocker is preventing the applet from opening...... you need vers 6 I think now..
turn off the blocker and try again,, still issues,, gimme a pm.
