Recently was given some unopened square tins of Reloader 21. This powder had been kept in a cool controlled environment. I've heard the burn rate is close to H380 just wondering about using this in 30/30; 6.5X55; and 225 Winchester. Load data is hard to come by on this obsolete stuff.

Find load data for RL15. Since it is faster than RL 21, it is safe to use that load data and work up. I don't recall that powder. RL15 is about like 4064; RL19 is about like 4350; RL22 is about like H4831. I would bet all their powders are similarly linear in burning rate and designation. I would expect RL21 to turn out to be close to IMR4831 in speed. But safety says start lower, like RL15 data and work up.

Throw the stuff away... Better yet I'll pay shipping to me and dispose of it properly. [smilie=1:

21 is very fine fuel. Some of the most accurate in the 06. Find a Speer #8 which lists it in several calibers then expropolate other calibers.

I see the #8 is sitting here.

140's in the 6.5 list 41 grs max

55 grs in the 225W lists 34 grs max

30/30 data I'd suggest 4320 data which is a mite faster... by a few grains.

MOA.
