This morning I wanted to warm up a cup of soup to eat with breakfast

A darn fly flew into the microwave oven as I put the soup in

I said a few choice words and why bother

So I turned the microwave on
With the fly sitting on the turn table

When the soup was hot
I opened the door and the fly flew out

It must have lucked out and missed the hot spots

Well It landed on the table
The fly swatter did a better job of putting a hurt on the fly

OH well I was hoping to see a well done fly when the soup was hot

Microwave ovens operate at 2450 MHz. I think that's a wavelength of 120 mm, or over four inches. The fly is maybe six or seven mm, in other words, too short to absorb energy.

Great, now we have an irradiated fly out there. He probably has super powers and glows in the dark. Hope that fly doesn't breed.

If he can breed after the fly swatter got him, just start running when you see a fly. lol

Microwaves don't seem to affect flies. A few years back, I went to heat some water for coffee, and a fly flew in. I was expecting to blow up, but the silly thing flew right out when I opened the door.

This past summer I had the freezer door open to grab a banana popsicle and a fly flew in. I closed the door and in my best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice said "chill out". He did.....

Grandkids showed me how a squirt-gun hit using 90% isopropyl alcohol will kill a fly in seconds. Best fun is to try to get 'em flying for an "aerial kill". Doesn't affect spiders though. Don't do it where the spray will land on the good furniture, or your shellac-finished gunstocks. Have to admit that, for all the tricks I learned as a kid, they taught gramps a new one with this game.

Great - now we have zombie flys. Only kill them with green colored booze. Darn.

'Green-colored booze'? Stay away from my absinthe. If you want to kill a fly, use a sledge-hammer like a real man.

Yall ever heard of putting salt in a shell, no powder, let the primer fire the salt and kill flies?

OK
I guess I will make some Lime Jello shots

That should kill the flys and a few of my brain cells also

I started in a new school w/o AC and we just used cut rubber bands. Got lots of target practice.
