At deer camp this past weekend my youngest son. (high school football player) Says my 243 shoots a 100 gr bullet @ 3000 fps. Oldest son. (College football player) Says my 25-06 shoots a 117 gr bullet @ 3100 fps. When I told the boys my 35 whelen shoots a 275 gr gas checked hollow point @ 2100 fps. Oldest son says to his brother. Kind of like an offensive lineman. Doesn't move real fast but you don't want to be in his way when he gets there ;-)

Elmer Keith thought along the same lines.
That might be why the 45-70 has survived the test of years.

I want one! What's not to like? It sounds perfect to me.

I'm thinking more like a 275 lb linebacker, breaks thru most anything and keeps going.

Or Knocked Koo-Koo by a pulling guard. :)
Sure do like the 275 gr spitzer flat point from Accurate molds. If I feel the need I Make a few HP with the forrester drill. Feeds OK in the VZ 24 98 mauser. Accuracy load in this gun is 41 gr. AA2230. Also likes full power loads of WCC860 with a 4198 kicker.

perhaps a boolit between 320 and 350 grains should really be called "The Refridgerator"?
