I'm looking at a Saeco 2-Cavity Bullet Mold #356 38 Special, 357 Magnum (358 Diameter) 200 Grain Flat Nose Gas Check. Will it stay under or at the maximum length for Ruger revolvers? I haven't found any OVL specs for this bullet. My reloading manuals only show 180 grain for the largest bullets used. Any one used this bullet?

Usually revolver loads get crimped in the cannellure (sp ?). That gives you the length and the fit in the chamber, of course.

I load some loads just shy of the end of cylinder.(Just make sure you have a good crimp.)
I have a buddy who made some spire point .357 molds and uses .38 special cases with the boolit seated out near the end.

I have Ruger and Colt 357 DA and SA revolvers. I load different lengths for different cylinders. My Rugers seem to have slightly longer cylinders than the Colts. S&W "N" frames are the shortest of all in my stable. I never understood the reasoning behind that.

I'm trying to find the length from the crimp groove to the nose of the bullet. For the Seaco 200 grain mould. This is a very large bullet for .357 and I have fears that it won't fit in some guns. Every one here thinks they need a big hammer to carry, for bear protection while hunting and fishing.

OK, I understand the big hammer but to my way of thinking the 357, even with a 200, doesn't fit the name, "big hammer".

I'm a flatlander, but I'm thinking .44 magnum..........

It is bigger than nothing when it's the only pistol you got.
Myself I prefer the .475 Linebaugh, but the weight of the thing kinda makes you walk lopsided after a few miles, up hill through the timber.

Maybe some BB would be good to carry instead of a mold and experimentation. Sometimes the factorys do a better job and the BBs are supposed to be real thumpers. I have 180s loaded really hot in my 6" Dan W. for Ct. hiking lol. Out there, I would have my shotgun too. (maybe)
