Greetings all. Hope this isn't a thread elsewhere and if so, if someone can re-direct me I'd be grateful.

I'd assume this is going to become a real problem in the future.

we got a couple of other threads running on the subject.
this should be a minimal impact closure [except to the people that work there]
our lead is sent to china [and india] and bought back at a much higher price already.
maybe one day down the road we will pull our heads out and begin making what we need here again then it will be needed.

Lamar...I have a feeling we're going to be making most everything here again because no one will be selling to us and take our currency.

I spoke to a friend at the lead/tin/silver mines in Northern Idaho this morning. The EPA stepped on their w _ _ _ ie. The mines saw this coming four years ago, and as smelters closed, they relocated them to Mexico. 85% of the lead mined today is smelted there.

Our good friends at roto-metals have adjusted their pricing structure, 52-55 lb pig of lead is now $112.00+. That is nearly double the May pricing.
