Does anyone make replacement sprue cutters out of quality tool steel for standard production molds(lyman ,RCBS, ETC)?
I am getting those little humps on the boolit bases with hard alloys ,mostly on thr rear most cavity. Thanks....Buck

Buck ,When that problem rears its ugly head It is usually cause I slowed down cutting the spru letting it get too cool........... Dean

Here's one for mostly a BPCR application as it's only made for single cavity moulds and custom ones at that. This ones on a Steve Brooks 45-70 mould for a 540 gr Creedmore and I also use it on a Steve Brooks 38-55 mould for a 330 gr Creedmore style. It'll fit on a Lyman Single Cavity like the Postell but the sprue cut will be slightly off center and may cause a stabilization problem. The sprue "well" on top sure helps to get consistent bullet weights though. It's made by Butch Ulsher up in Montana.

Casting using the BruceB method, I have extremly flat bases. NO bump or hole. Also no lead smeared on the blocks or sprue plate. I have it so the sprue plate swings under its own weight when hot. Works for ME.

I agree with Dave, and Bruce, properly done the BruceB method lets you cut the sprue with your gloved hand, no beating on the plate needed.

and most reloaders are controlling people, we LIKE to control, the BruceB method lets you CONTROL MORE :-)
