Anyone ever make a DIY Rise? Would be used for my Lee Classic Cast. While it does seem nice at our vendors (In-Line) I just cannot afford the 80-100$ rise. Looking to make something, any ideas?

Are you talking about the Lee auto disk riser?

I made one for my Herter's 234 turret. I just booger welded it together. It works pretty good for my needs. The main thing for me was to turn the ram to perpendicular.

Okay, build a rather solid wooden box the size you want out of 3/4 plywood or something similar. Use screws to assemble it, not nails, and reinforce the inner joints with a screwed & glued 2X2, or whatever you already have. Paint to match everything else. You may also be able to scrounge a heavily built metal box already made. Scrounge the next flea market and see what you can find.

I bought a piece of 4"x5" thick wall square aluminum tubing about 16.5" long bolted it on my reloading table
with the 3" side up, drilled tapped and mounted my Dillon 550 b on top.
Plenty strong lightweight and gives me room to put the primer feed tubes inside with my die lock wrench.
I drilled 3 holes in the top back left side to put the allen wrenches in.
I was going to order a strong-mount but Dillon was out of stock.
I have about $25.00 in it including the nuts, bolts and washers.

Jim I made one like you show in 1993 to put my Corbin swage press on.

I have ideas but how much higher do you want to raise your press? Do you do wood or metal work? And is the press already mounted where you want it to stay?

Wow, looked further on that thread and WOW! These home made solutions to issues arising from our hobby are pretty slick. Even the 'booger weld' job beats a lot of commercially available stuff.

Using a riser is fine until you acquire more presses. My solution after having made 3 risers was to build a reloading bench that is tall enough not to need risers. I do all my reloading standing up as I don't like doing reloading sitting as I cannot see the charge in the cases.

The most important part of a riser is that it is sturdy. Pretty is fine but function takes precedence.

Just a simple one but it seems to work just fine.
