Here's some pics of the first "keepers" I'm saving from this first round of casting with my 303 cal rifle mold. I got this mold a while back but haven't had time to try it. Don't ask where I got it because its a one-off redo from something else that didn't work out for the guy I bought it from. That means there aren't any more to be had OK?

This is only my second time ever casting (and first time with a brass mold) so don't roast me for the appearance of these slugs. I know many of the "experienced" casters would probably throw all of these back in the pot but I saved the best of the 30 or so I poured. My "blend" of alloy was mostly range scrap with a few COWW's that I'd picked up. All were water dropped just because I find it easier to do. I poured the rest into three parts of a standard muffin tin.

They measure out .315-.317 and I plan to shoot them out of my SMLE. Now I need to get a Lee .314 sizer, some gas checks and I'll be ready to load. Enjoy!

There isn't anything there that I wouldn't shoot.

Judging by the photo, those look great. Keep at it!

Just got back from weighing a few. I weighed 7 of them and the range was 224gr to 224.5gr which is heavier than I anticipated. From my reading here, I think if I added more WW's (thus making the mix harder) they'll lighten up a little. Oh well, should plow right through anything! Also, I think the .303 British originally was loaded with ~220gr pills over black powder.
