I tried an oatmeal cookie recipe that included coconut, pretty tasty and as I didn't have enough chocolate chips it was 50/50 chocolate chip and raisins.

Cranberry and pecans !!! Less sugar

2/3 cup brown sugar*
1 cup butter
Mix together*
Add 3 eggs and
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix together till fluffy..... Set aside.
2 cups flour
Add to flour .. 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
** * * * * * * * * *1/2 teaspoon baking soda
** * * * * * * * * *2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
** * * * * * * * * *1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
** * * * * * * * * *1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Mix well then ... Add half of the 4 cup of Oat meal to the flour.

Add three hand fulls of dried cranberries! And 3 hand fulls of pecans To brown sugar mix.
Combined flower and brown sugar mix well then add the last of the Oat meal.*
They are ready for cook at 375 for no more then 9 minutes.*
The cookie dough should not be really wet ... Add a little more flour if the first tray turns out melting and spreading out on the cookie sheet.*

They are good aint they?? Alaskagurl USED to make them about the size of a teacup plate and wrap them in plastic wrap individually so when i went out with clients, or fishing, i would have a ready made snack of goodness... A couple would hold me all day in the worst weather.. But NOW i just get these little ones... hMPH... Just dont let the wife skimp on the goodies inside them... Mine USED to also put dates in mine as well, but times change... :(

I have a recipe called "Garbage Cookies."I'm not partial to raisins but don't mind them in this recipe.
It took forever to get a buddys wife to part with it, but was worth the wait. Has everything but the kitchen sink and everyone raves about them and wants the recipe.
Years ago myself and the wife were going Christmas shopping and left some of the grandkids home to make this recipe.
My phone rings and the oldest granddaughter says "Grandpa. what is oleomargarine?"
