Well sorted my wheel weights today still waiting on casting equipment

well sorted wheel weights out of a 5 gal got 39 lb lead 40 lb steel /zinc and 2lb stick on lead . can't wait untill my casting stuff gets here . so i can get started

Don"t throw out the steel and Zinc. You can probably sell them to a local scrap yard. Not for much, but it adds to the fun. My local yard will take the steel and the clips from the lead. They would not take the zinc, but I know some will. Welcome to the addiction.

Welcome. Started 6 months ago now i own 12ish molds 3 lee melting pots and dream about minning lead at the range. And can shoot till my trigger finger hurts, been a good 6months.

I ordered my lyman kit and lee mold last week if it does not show by tuesday i am going to find out where it is .i want to cast so bad

I am curious to how you determined what was lead and what was zinc?

no my casting pot has not shown up yet . and there is a great sticky on here on wheel weight id (if a mod can post the sticky it would be appreciated) i used it and think i got 99% of the zinc the steel is easy to find the zinc is harder than lead so i used that with sidecutters to sort
