Ummmm just pondering why this website is called castboolits and not cast bullets ?

Might be a stupid question but I'd still like to know

Because a boolit is man made perfection, a bullet has that darn condom on it.

Boolit. It shows up on my auto correct to it is a real word. Basically it is a term to describe projectiles that you can make yourself, usually of a lead alloy, although a lot of people refer to hand swagged as boolits. To me it is a projectile that can pretty much be shot as it falls from the mold with little extra added.

The term came into here to differentiate cast from jacketed. Simple as that. It fit our needs and came into common here use along with terms like "Soup Can" that you won't find in common use elsewhere. Later, certain snobs at other sites took us to task for using boolits and it just solidified our use, especially considering those other snobs and their sites can be found referring to bullets as "heads", "tips", "pills", etc.

Lead fumes are toxic and cause brain damage and by the time Al Gore got around to inventing the internet, the founder of this site had already cast many a bullet and the damage was done! Since gun forum members are always so gracious and politically correct, no one till now had the heart to call him on the carpet for mispelling the word. Way to go!
