WMBO worked a nightshift so came home this morning and went to bed. Kiera had a friend for a sleep over and I had my monthly black powder shoot to arrange. Only one solution. All the gear, all the girls into the truck and off to the range. I set up the BP shoot and left the usual attendees to it and took the girls over to the 100m with the 77/22. They loved it. I set up targets on the 25m bullet catcher including paper animals and Christmas decorations I picked up cheap a while back. Here they are: L-R Abby "why didn't I get to the hold the gun" Brown, Kiera, sleep over guest Emily.

Happier Abby:

Kiera lining up. She's turning into a very good shooter:

After shooting we when to the fishing ponds. Nothing landed but saw some nice fish. The girls enjoyed and we stopped at McD's on the way home.

A good morning out.

Little Abby proved that holding a gun can make one happy. Very cute young ladies.

Abby "why didn't I get to the hold the gun" Brown

That's pretty much the way I look when I think I may not get to shoot, too.

This is what it is all about. When my kids were young I introduced more than one of their friends to shooting. I think some of my best days at the range have been with kids. Good for you.

Some of my best days at the range were with my granddaughters, the oldest turned out to be my best spotter I ever had, just had to move her to the upwind side of the 45-90 Sharps.
All 3 three of them now are teenagers and can out shoot any boy in the neighborhood.
Priceless days with your youngin's

Great day, thanks for sharing.
Had a young man yesterday at the range eying my 22 revolver.
I went to his dad, few mins latter he was shooting it, big smile he had.
As they walked away, dad looked back with a thumbs up.
I over heard them talking, sounds like the boy is getting his first revolver.

That look on Abby in the first photo brings back memories of when my daughter was that age.

You are a lucky man Jeff

Nice pic's - do you have something more the correct size for Abby? That rifle is near as long as she is tall - might look for a cricket

I miss having small kids around sometimes. The new job now has me around a lot of pretty good teenagers constantly, so the empty nest thing only seems to hit when I'm at the range, hunting, etc. Both my boys shot a lot ad also hunted with me and we fished a lot as they grew up, good memories.

You know of course, that in 20 or 30 years your girls are gonna be hard pressed to find husbands who can measure up to daddy. Great job Jeff, and great pics.
